The LAST day! I knew getting all the way back home was going to be a LONG day but I was ready to get back to the family. But first, I needed to get to the border to call this trip complete. I set out early in the morning and headed towards the border where I dealt with drizzling rain the whole way under overcast skies.

This morning was another VERY cold morning and I love nothing more than putting on cold clothes and then trying to use my fingers to pack the Jeep up. Anyway, after fighting with tent cover for a while, I hit the road again with miles in mind.

I went to sleep in a comfortable 25-ish degrees but woke up very cold with the thermometer saying it was 8 degrees. Sad morning. Since I woke up cold, I decided to hit the road and I was able to see the sun creep down the face of the mountains as it came up which was cool and something I don’t get to see very often.

This morning I work up with a renewed view on what I want to get out of this trip. I always planned on there being a little slop in the time it would take me to complete the trip but Unfortunately, I told my son I “should” be back on a certain day and now that is set in stone, not an option.
